October 2011

Last month's newsletter talked about the growth our church has seen. This month celebrates Pastor Appreciation Day on October 9th. We know without Jon's faithful dedication to the mission and vision that God placed on his heart we would not have this growth. The addition of Chase to our leadership has been a blessing to the worship and youth ministries. Please take time this month to thank these men. Their wives also deserve thanks for the contributions and sacrifices they make.

"Corporate Prayer" is a common way of referring to praying with a group of other believers. Private prayer and corporate prayer are both an important part of prayer ministry. We need both of them. We meet the 1st Sunday after church, every 3rd Wednesday at the home of Judy Jones, 701 W 3rd Ave and every 4th Tuesday (brown bag edition) at noon at church.

 We support the following missions:
Small Ways to Help that Make a BIG Difference~
  1. Place your Hy-Vee receipts in the offering plate. We receive a monetary portion back when they are turned in.
  2. Bring your clean, empty containters (such as peanut butter jars) and place them in the kitchen. They are given to the Breadbasket to distribute items they receive in bulk.
  3. When you are finished with your "Our Daily Bread" devotion booklet, turn it in to the office. They are used at the Breadbasket to minister to those who utilize their service.
