December 2012

Starting to feel the pressure and stress that leads up to Christmas? The perfect gift for everyone on your list. The toy that they HAVE to have...that then sits unnoticed by the following week. The perfect meal for your family. The baking. The parties. The finances! Why not start a new family tradition? Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth. Why not make your friend's and family's birthday the focus of a big, significant gift and celebrate Christmas by giving smaller gifts to each other then "adopting" a family or kid who may not otherwise have a Christmas? You will not believe how much better you feel.

On a personal note - our family started this a few years back. Our motivation? I was a single mom going to college when my kids were little. They were Angel Tree kids. The only time in the year they got new clothes or a new toy (other than from grandparents on their birthday) was from people who generously gave. They remember the joy they felt. Now that we are the ones doing the giving we realize the ever greater joy we feel by paying it forward.

Can Buddy the Elf teach us anything about the true meaning of Christmas? YES! This December, The RESCUE Church invites you to join us for a three-week, fun-filled, family-friendly worship experience entitled The ELF Series!
  • Surprise give-aways!
  • Gifts for the kids EVERY week!
  • Fun Christmas music!
  • Guaranteed laughter!
  • Inspirational teaching!
Make sure you invite all your friends for this FUN series. You can start by inviting them to:

We will be kicking off the Christmas season with a party! You don't want to miss the excitement of our pep rally. Our band will be playing and rockin' this place! We will also be having baptisms so if you've accepted Christ and haven't been baptized, now's the time! Then to top off the evening we are having a potluck. If you've never been to one of our pot lucks you have no idea what you're missing. These people can cook & bake!

Dear RESCUE Church Family,

At The RESCUE Church, we believe God has given us a huge vision to bring a message of hope and salvation to hurting people all around the world.  I want to tell you about an exciting opportunity you have this Christmas to participate in that vision through a very special event called the Christmas Tree Offering.

We are asking God to provide $30,000 that will be used to reach people with the message of His love in the following ways:

Christmas Banquet:
On Friday, December 21st The RESCUE Church will once again share the love of Jesus and the hope of the Christmas season as we provide an elegant banquet to people in Moody County who are struggling to make ends meet in these hard economic times and could really use a generous blessing during the holidays.

Multi-Site Technology:
God has called The RESCUE Church, through the use of modern technology, to be one church that meets in multiple locations.   Through His provision of this Christmas Tree Offering, we plan to purchase 6 video conferencing units that will allow our church to expand from our current two locations to six locations!  On the surface, the thought of purchasing technology might not seem too exciting.  But when you understand that there are souls who need Jesus, marriages that need restoring, addictions that need to be broken, and hurting lives waiting on the other side of this technology and message of hope that it will deliver, you can see this is about so much more than just technology… it’s about people!

The RESCUE Church’s Next Campus Launch:
At the moment, we are keeping our next campus location a secret until all the final details are worked out.  Lord willing, in early December we will be going public with the full details of the next RESCUE Church campus that will be launched in early 2013!  We will use a portion of the Christmas tree offering to purchase some of the start-up equipment for this campus.

So how does the Christmas Tree Offering work?
On December 15th & 16th we will place a bare Christmas tree on the stage at both of our campuses.  We then will have a special time of allowing people to come up decorate the tree with their gift.  If you are unable to join us in person on that weekend we invite you to go to our website (www.therescuechurch.org) and participate in the Christmas Tree Offering electronically by clicking the DONATE ONLINE button any time leading up to that weekend.

I believe that God is going to use The RESCUE Church to bring thousands of people into His kingdom from all over the world.  Your generous participation in the year’s Christmas Tree Offering will help make that vision a reality.  Thank you in advance for letting God work through your generosity!

In Christ,
Pastor Jon

WOW! That's a lot of stuff going on in the life of our church! We exist to be outwardly focused to reach people with the life-saving news of Christ! If you're not involved in one of the many opportunities to serve you really are missing out on the "warm fuzzies" that come from helping in even the smallest ways.
No matter if you're shy or outgoing there is a place for you to serve.
  • Multi-media (advancing slides during the worship service)
  • Camera (ensuring Jon is in the center of the screen)
  • Sound (flipping the switches so the band and Jon are heard)
  • First Impressions (making & serving beverages at the coffee bar, greeting our visitors with a smile, open the door for our visitors)
  • Usher (handing out bulletins, passing the buckets during offering)
  • Nursery (watching kids with another person so everyone has the opportunity to hear the message without distraction)
  • RESCUE Kidz (assist Pastor Chase with interactive, fun learning for kids age 4 through grade 5)
  • iCampus (chat with visitors to our online service on Sunday mornings)
We have people who are more than willing to instruct you in each of these areas so you are comfortable.
We utilize an online scheduling program so you can block out any days you are unable to serve.
